COORDINATION OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS – EXTREME-NORTH I

The Financial Constituency of Extreme-North I held its coordination meeting for public accountants on 30 July 2026 in the town of Gazawa, in the Extreme-North region. Under the theme « Mastery of reforms and reinforcement of internal control for effective public management », this meeting brought together all public accountants of the constituency to address major challenges in modernising public finance management.

The proceedings were effectively chaired by Mr. MIDJIYAWA Bakari, Governor of the Extreme-North region, whose presence underscored the importance placed by the regional administrative authority on good local financial governance and support for Treasury services in their missions.

The Directorate General of the Treasury, Financial and Monetary Cooperation (DGTCFM) was represented by Mrs. CHEKAM Odette Stéphanie épse NDIBO, while the coordination of the work was ensured by Mr. ASSENE FOE Bertrand Armand, the local Treasurer-Paymaster General (TPG).

📋 Review of reforms and internal control challenges

During this working session, discussions focused on the progress of reforms undertaken within the Treasury network, challenges related to internal control, and the levers to ensure more rigorous, transparent, and effective public management at the level of the financial constituency. The public accountants present were able to share their field experiences and agree on priority orientations to strengthen budget and accounting discipline.

🤝 Recognition and cordial exchanges

Beyond the technical work, the meeting was also marked by moments of recognition and cordial exchanges between administrative authorities, Treasury officials, and local partners, illustrating the spirit of collaboration that characterises the action of the Public Treasury in the regions.

This coordination meeting of Extreme-North I is part of the momentum driven by the Ministry of Finance, through the DGTCFM, aiming to strengthen, across the entire national territory, the culture of internal control and the performance of public management in the service of development.
