The Treasury Staff Mutual Insurance Company (MUTRESOR)

MUTRESOR was created to promote and maintain a spirit of solidarity and mutual support among active staff and those who have retired or been placed on leave.

Over the years, MUTRESOR has succeeded in creating and fostering this spirit of solidarity among staff through a range of social benefits provided to its members.

Beyond these benefits, it has also embarked on a vast infrastructure program in recent years for the well-being of its members.

Benefits

MUTRESOR distinguishes itself from other mutuals by the quality of social benefits provided to its members, namely:

  • the payment of marriage benefits
  • the payment of death benefits
  • the payment of retirement bonuses
  • health insurance

These benefits are paid as of right to members whose contributions are up to date, once they have submitted a request to their delegates or directly to MUTRESOR’s headquarters.

The payment of birth and marriage benefits is MUTRESOR’s primary means of assistance to its members for happy events and represents MUTRESOR’s second largest social expenditure item after health coverage.

For staff members eligible for retirement, MUTRESOR pays them an annual allowance in addition to a symbolic gift.

The presentation of this allowance constitutes a moment of communion with the new retirees.

In the event of a member’s death, an indemnity corresponding to the member’s rank and group is granted to their spouse, along with the cost of purchasing a wreath of flowers.

Furthermore, MUTRESOR provides a bus free of charge to the family for participation in the deceased’s funeral.

With regard to medical coverage, MUTRESOR takes out an insurance policy each year for the benefit of its members with its partner AXA.

This policy covers inpatient and outpatient care, childbirth, dental and ophthalmological consultations, surgical procedures, radiotherapy, sanatorium treatments, and medical analyses according to the terms defined in the insurance contract.

There are 2 colleges for health insurance:

College 1: General Manager, Directors, Deputy Directors, Sub-directors, and Equivalents who benefit from medical coverage up to 80% and medical evacuation abroad.

College 2: Heads of Departments and Equivalents, Category A and B executives, Category 10 and above Contractual staff, and other personnel who benefit from medical coverage up to 70%.

Members can also insure their spouses and children under College 2.

There are medical centers, laboratories, and pharmacies approved by AXA as well as AXA medical advisors in each region.

AXA has provided policyholders with an initial set of biometric cards, and distribution is continuing.

Members must submit reimbursement claims to MUTRESOR Delegates.

Each Financial District has a Delegate, and there are also Delegates for Central Services.

Thanks to continuous monitoring, complaints against AXA are rare.

Achievements of the Treasury Staff Mutual Insurance Company

In recent years, MUTRESOR has undertaken the construction and acquisition of several infrastructures.

Among these is the construction of the Concord International Hotel in Yaoundé, a five-star hotel with two basements and ten floors comprising 123 luxury rooms, a modern swimming pool, a gym, and panoramic views.

The structural work is complete; all that remains is the fitting out and furnishing.

The key executives (Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer) have already been recruited through an international tender process.

The Board of Directors has authorized the renewal of the vehicle fleet with the acquisition of 2 35-seater buses.

Looking ahead, the construction of an infirmary is planned at MUTRESOR’s headquarters, next to the gymnasium.

MUTRESOR ultimately aims for free membership thanks to the profitability of ongoing projects.
