\n On December 3, 2025, the city of Douala hosted the inauguration of the headquarters of the CEMAC Pink Card National Bureau<\/strong>, during a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze. This event marks an important milestone in the modernization and structuring of the Pink Card regional mechanism.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n A Modern Infrastructure Dedicated to an Essential Community Mechanism\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n The new building, located in the Bali district of Douala, is now the official headquarters of the National Bureau responsible for managing the Pink Card in Cameroon. The structure reportedly comprises four floors, built on a footprint of approximately 400 m\u00b2.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n This modern building aims to provide the necessary standards for reception, file processing, institutional coordination, and cross-border claims management.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n A Strategic Investment to Strengthen Cross-Border Claims Management\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n The total construction cost of the headquarters is estimated between 2.5 and 2.7 billion FCFA<\/strong>, according to recently published sources.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n The first recourse for victims of claims involving foreign drivers \u2014 a symbolic place where the State materializes, administrative justice takes shape, and community solidarity is expressed.\n <\/p>\n “<\/span>\n <\/div>\n\n

\n The Minister also recalled that the National Bureau is not itself an insurer, but a community guarantee mechanism \u2014 which excludes joint seizures by simple assimilation between system guarantee and contractual liability.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n An Important Step for Sub-Regional Integration\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n The CEMAC Pink Card mechanism was established in 1996, to allow motorists insured in one member country to travel freely in other member states without having to take out new insurance.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

    \n History and Evolution of the National Bureau\n <\/h3>\n\n

    \n The Cameroonian National Bureau of the Pink Card was initially created by ministerial decree on May 3, 1999. At its launch, it benefited from a public guarantee intended to secure the mechanism and protect users.\n <\/p>\n\n

    \n With this new headquarters, Cameroon now has a concrete institutional framework \u2014 a physical location \u2014 to centralize functions related to “trans-CEMAC” motor liability insurance, claims in the event of accidents, arbitration, and coordination between insurers and national and regional authorities.\n <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
